(4) Official Development Assistance (ODA) on Water Supply
Japan's ODA takes various forms, including providing funding and technologies to particular countries and providing assistance to large numbers of countries via international organizations. Japan gives careful consideration to the circumstances of the recipient countries, and chooses methods that correspond to requirements and needs of those countries.
a. Project Formation Program
Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare conducts a variety of surveys on specific international cooperation plans in the field of water supply, which developing countries are currently working on.
These projects technically review programs and plans in the developing countries, provide appropriate guidance and advice, and transfer the technical expertise of Japan. It is designed to support developing countries to draft relevant programs and plans effectively and efficiently, in order to receive supports such as financial cooperation, etc..
