Digest of Summary Report
Natality
Working mothers accounted for 45.8% of all mothers who gave birth to their first child, which was an 11.3 point increase from 34.5% in FY2010.
General mortality
When looking at the leading causes of death, the top was malignant neoplasm which accounted for 33.1% and 24.4% of all causes of death for men and women respectively, and the proportions for those who had a job were 39.4% and 38.5% for men and women respectively.
Marriages
- Couples who got married with both spouses having a job accounted for 73.8% of all couples who married, which was a 5.9 point increase from 67.9% in FY2010.
- Couples who got married with the groom having a job and the bride without a job accounted for 17.7% of all couples who married, which was a 5.4 point decrease from 23.1% in FY2010.
Divorce
- 63.6% of all women who divorced had a job, which was a 6.8 point increase from 56.8% in FY2010.
- When with children, wives have a higher percentage of having custody of children in all employment statuses.
