“Expert Meeting on the Long-term Health Care of Workers at the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant” compiled a report.

“Expert Meeting on the long-term health care of workers at the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant” (chaired by Koji Aizawa, Vice president of Kitasato University) established by Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare compiled a report based on discussions in the expert meeting.



  • Now a large number of workers are engaged in tasks to restore the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant from the nuclear accident.
  • Because of concern about health impairment due to exposure to radiation, the action plan was prepared by the Government on May 2011 to construct the database that allows the long-term tracking of radiation exposure doses of all workers who have been engaged in the emergency work, including after they left the job, for the long-term health care.
  • In response to the policy, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare set up the expert meeting on the long-term health care of workers at the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in June 2011. The expert meeting, consisting of experts, met four times for discussion so far.
  • Based on the discussions in the expert meeting, a report was compiled by the expert meeting.
