An inquiry on radiation exposure dose will be received from workers engaged in emergency works at the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.
The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) will start receiving inquiries by post mail on radiation exposure dose from workers who had been engaged in the emergency work at the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant and are not involved in radiation works due to retirement or career change since then.

Radiation exposure doses of workers who were engaged in radiation work or emergency work at the TEPCO
Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant need to be recorded and informed to the workers for the employers, as
stipulated by law.
The number of workers who had been involved in the emergency works at the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accounts for approximately 20,000 since March 2011, some of them are not involved in radiation work now due to retirement or career change. The MHLW is now developing a database that allows for the accumulation of radiation exposure dose data and results of medical examination of those who were involved in the emergency works. -
Recently some functions of the database have become available. Therefore the MHLW will start receiving
inquiries of radiation exposure dose by post mail according to the procedures shown in the Attachment from
10 January 2012, for those who are not involved in radiation works due to retirement or career change.
(Radiation dose data until September 2011 are available presently, and these will be updated in future.)

- This system will allow for responding to inquiries about radiation exposure doses from workers distributed country wide.
- The development of the database will be continued in order to implement actions (e.g. offering health consultation to workers not involved in radiation work now) as suggested in “the Guidelines for maintaining or improving health of emergency workers at the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant”.
