Medical care system at the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant will be improved.
Upon the building of a new medical facility and deploying of a number of doctors, the medical care system will
be improved at the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.
- At present, a large number of workers are engaged in restoration operation to recover from the nuclear accident at the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.
- From the standpoint of ensuring a system where medical doctors are stationed full-time at the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, we requested the University of Occupational and Environmental Health, Japan and the Japan Labour Health and Welfare Organization* to dispatch medical doctors in May 2011
- The Tokyo Electric Power Company has established and will start a new medical center at the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant on 1 July 2011. A new medical care team consisting mainly of medical doctors specializing in emergency radiation medicine, etc. is to be dispatched to the center, as shown in Attachments 1 and 2.
- Thanks to this measure, a number of medical doctors are to be stationed there from July to September when the high incidence of heat stroke is a major concern.
*: It runs 30 Rosai hospitals (hospital for laborers) throughout Japan.
