1 Cash Earnings

Average monthly total cash earnings per regular employee in August 2007 were 284,336 yen increased by 0.6% compared with a year earlier.

Contractual cash earnings were 268,408 yen same as the same month of previous year and scheduled cash earnings were 249,102 yen decreased by 0.2%.

Real wage index was increased by 0.8%.

2 Hours Worked

Average monthly total hours worked per regular employee in August 2007 were 147.9 hours decreased by 0.6% compared with a year earlier.

Non-scheduled hours worked in Manufacturing were 15.8 hours decreased by 1.8% and its seasonally adjusted figure was decreased by 1.0%.

3 Employment

Regular employees in August 2007 were increased by 1.6% compared with a year earlier, full-time employees were increased by 0.5%, part-time employees were increased by 4.9%.
