1 Cash Earnings

Average monthly total cash earnings per regular employee in May 2007 were 275,148 yen decreased by 0.2% compared with a year earlier.

Contractual cash earnings were 268,212 yen same as the same month of previous year and scheduled cash earnings were 248,835 yen decreased by 0.2%.

Real wage index was decreased by 0.2%.

2 Hours Worked

Average monthly total hours worked per regular employee in May 2007 were 147.4 hours increased by 0.8% compared with a year earlier.

Non-scheduled hours worked in Manufacturing were 15.5 hours decreased by 0.5% and its seasonally adjusted figure was decreased by 1.6% from the previous month.

3 Employment

Regular employees in May 2007 were increased by 1.7% compared with a year earlier, full-time employees were increased by 1.0%, part-time employees were increased by 3.7%.
