1 Cash Earnings

Average monthly total cash earnings per regular employee in August 2006 were 285,412 yen decreased by 0.2%.

Contractual cash earnings were 271,155 yen decreased by 0.2% and scheduled cash earnings were 251,898 yen decreased by 0.3%.

Real wage index was decreased by 1.8%.

2 Hours Worked

Average monthly total hours worked per regular employee in August 2006 were 148.3 hours decreased by 0.3%.

Non-scheduled hours worked in Manufacturing were 16.0 hours increased by 4.6% and its seasonally adjusted figure was decreased by 0.5% from the previous month.

3 Employment

Regular employees in August 2006 were increased by 1.2% compared with a year earlier, full-time employees were increased by 1.1%, part-time employees were increased by 1.6%.
