1 Cash Earnings

Average monthly total cash earnings per regular employee in May 2006 were 278,261 yen increased by 0.5%.

Contractual cash earnings were 270,991 yen same as the same month of the previous year and scheduled cash earnings were 251,693 yen decreased by 0.3%.

Real wage index was decreased by 0.1%.

2 Hours Worked

Average monthly total hours worked per regular employee in May 2006 were 145.6 hours increased by 1.3%.

Non-scheduled hours worked in Manufacturing were 15.5 hours increased by 5.4% and its seasonally adjusted figure was decreased by 0.9% from the previous month.

3 Employment

Regular employees in May 2006 were increased by 1.0% compared with a year earlier, full-time employees were increased by 0.6%, part-time employees were increased by 1.7%.
