1 Cash Earnings

Average monthly total cash earnings per regular employee in January 2006 were 284,209 yen decreased by 0.1%.

Contractual cash earnings were 269,586 yen decreased by 0.1% and scheduled cash earnings were 250,047 yen decreased by 0.3%.

Real wage index was decreased by 0.6%.

2 Hours Worked

Average monthly total hours worked per regular employee in January 2006 were 139.8 hours decreased by 0.4%.

Non-scheduled hours worked in Manufacturing were 15.1 hours increased by 4.2% and its seasonally adjusted figure was increased by 2.3% from the previous month.

3 Employment

Regular employees in January 2006 were increased by 0.4% compared with a year earlier, full-time employees were increased by 0.3%, part-time employees were increased by 1.0%.
