1 Cash Earnings

Average monthly total cash earnings per regular employee in August 2005 were 286,284 yen decreased by 1.1%.

Contractual cash earnings were 271,514 yen increased by 0.5% and scheduled cash earnings were 252,728 yen increased by 0.4%.

Real wage index was decreased by 0.7%.

2 Hours Worked

Average monthly total hours worked per regular employee in August 2005 were 148.8 hours increased by 0.5%.

Non-scheduled hours worked in Manufacturing were 15.3 hours same as the same month of the previous year and its seasonally adjusted figure increased by 0.3% from the previous month.

3 Employment

Regular employees in August 2005 were increased by 0.5% compared with a year earlier, full-time employees were increased by 0.5%, part-time employees were increased by 0.6%.
