1 Cash Earnings

Average monthly total cash earnings per regular employee in March 2005 were 283,831 yen decreased by 0.4%.

Contractual cash earnings were 272,662 yen decreased by 0.2% and scheduled cash earnings were 253,241 yen decreased by 0.3%.

Real wage index was decreased by 0.4%.

2 Hours Worked

Average monthly total hours worked per regular employee in March 2005 were 151.4 hours decreased by 2.9%.

Non-scheduled hours worked in Manufacturing were 16.3 hours decreased by 1.3% and its seasonally adjusted figure increased by 0.4% from the previous month.

3 Employment

Regular employees in March 2005 were increased by 0.5% compared with a year earlier, full-time employees were increased by 0.2%, part-time employees were increased by 1.8%.
