The G7 Kobe Health Ministers' Meeting

Overview of the G7 Health Ministers' Meeting

What is the G7 Health Ministers' Meeting?

G7 Health Ministers' Meeting is one of the ministerial meetings, which brings together the Health Ministers from G7 (Japan, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States) and the European Commission to exchange views and form a consensus on a variety of health issues which the international society is facing.

G7 Health Ministers' Meeting of 2016 will be held in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture under the Japanese presidency. This will be the first Health Ministers' Meeting among G7/G8 countries in Japan, at the same time, the third of that following those in Russia in 2006 and Berlin in 2015 .

In light of the recent outbreaks of Ebola and MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome), we need to establish a global multi-sectoral framework to solve these problems that go well beyond borders.

G7 Kobe Health Ministers' Meeting will be an important occasion to take forward the discussions on global health at the G7 Ise-Shima Summit in May this year, and advance the policy collaboration among G7 countries.
