The 15th ILO Asia and the Pacific Regional Meeting* rescheduled

The Fifteenth Asia and the Pacific Regional meeting postponed due to the Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami has been decided to be held as follows, at the 311th session of the Governing body of the ILO on June 17, 2011.

  1. Dates: From Sunday, 4 to Wednesday, 7 December 2011
  2. Place: Kyoto International Conference Center (Kyoto city)
  3. Participants:
    • About 500 to 700 people from 45 countries in Asia and the Pacific region
    • Representatives of the government, labour unions, and employers associations
    • Usually attended by respective countries’ Ministers of Labour, etc. and several heads of state

*About every four years, the ILO Asia and the Pacific Regional Meeting brings together the constituents from 45 countries in Asia and the Pacific, attended by representatives of the government, workers, and employers in each country. For realizing Decent Work in Asia, the meeting widely discusses issues related to the ILO’s activities to be taken place in Asia and the Pacific region in the coming 4 years.
