“General Survey on Working Conditions 2013”

 

Digest of the Summary Report

 

Number of days of annual paid leave acquired 8.6 days, acquisition rate 47.1% Both has decreased from the previous year
Number of enterprises which introduce annual paid leave by the hour system has increased

 

21-Nov-2013 The results of the “General Survey on Working Conditions 2013” have now been tabulated and released by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
This survey aims to identify the actual situation of the working conditions of private companies in Japan. Private enterprises with 30 or more regular employees were surveyed in January on the situation of January 1st, 2013. 4,211 valid responses were received of 6,144 establishments surveyed.

 

【Key survey results】

1 Number of days of annual paid leave acquired

“The number of days of annual paid leave granted” was 18.3 days (previous year 18.3 days), “the number of days of annual paid leave acquired” was 8.6 days (previous year 9.0 days), and “the acquisition rate” was 47.1% (previous year 49.3%).

In addition, ratio of enterprises with “annual paid leave by the hour system” was 11.2% (previous year 8.8%).

2 Retirement benefit (lump-sum or pension)

(1) Ratio of enterprises with “retirement benefit (lump-sum or pension) system” was 75.5% (83.9% in 2008).
Of those, ratio of enterprises with “retirement (lump-sum) system” was 88.4% (previous year 87.2%), and that of enterprises with “retirement (pension) system” was 34.2% (previous year 44.7%). (Including adoption of both the systems)

(2) In terms of retirement benefit, “college or university graduates (Non-production workers)” in 35 years or more of continuous received 21,560,000 yen (previous year 24,910,000 yen), and “upper secondary school graduates (Non-production workers)" received 19,650,000 yen (previous year 22,380,000 yen).
