1 Cash Earnings

Average monthly total cash earnings per regular employee in December 2007 were 596,895 yen decreased by 1.9% compared with a year earlier.

Contractual cash earnings were 271,495 yen increased by 0.3% and scheduled cash earnings were 250,995 yen increased by 0.5%.

Real wage index was decreased by 2.7%.

2 Hours Worked

Average monthly total hours worked per regular employee in December 2007 were 150.6 hours decreased by 1.5% compared with a year earlier.

Non-scheduled hours worked in Manufacturing were 17.3 hours decreased by 0.5% and its seasonally adjusted figure was decreased by 0.9%.

3 Employment

Regular employees in December 2007 were increased by 1.7% compared with a year earlier, full-time employees were increased by 1.7%, part-time employees were increased by 1.9%.
