1 Cash Earnings

Average monthly total cash earnings per regular employee in August 2007 were 283,236 yen increased by 0.1%.

Contractual cash earnings were 268,646 yen increased by 0.1% and scheduled cash earnings were 249,338 yen decreased by 0.1%.

Real wage index was increased by 0.4%.

2 Hours Worked

Average monthly total hours worked per regular employee in August 2007 were 148.3 hours decreased by 0.4% compared with a year earlier.

Non-scheduled hours worked in Manufacturing were 15.8 hours decreased by 1.8% and its seasonally adjusted figure was decreased by 1.0%.

3 Employment

Regular employees in August 2007 were increased by 1.6% compared with a year earlier, full-time employees were increased by 1.0%, part-time employees were increased by 3.4%.
