1 Cash Earnings

Average monthly total cash earnings per regular employee in April 2007 were 278,193 yen decreased by 0.7%.

Contractual cash earnings were 271,310 yen decreased by 0.8% and scheduled cash earnings were 250,969 yen decreased by 1.0%.

Real wage index was decreased by 0.7%.

2 Hours Worked

Average monthly total hours worked per regular employee in April 2007 were 154.9 hours decreased by 0.8% compared with a year earlier.

Non-scheduled hours worked in Manufacturing were 17.1 hours increased by 0.7% and its seasonally adjusted figure was increased by 0.7%.

3 Employment

Regular employees in April 2007 were increased by 1.6% compared with a year earlier, full-time employees were increased by 0.8%, part-time employees were increased by 3.6%.
