1 Cash Earnings

Average monthly total cash earnings per regular employee in January 2007 were 277,738 yen decreased by 1.2%.

Contractual cash earnings were 266,474 yen decreased by 0.2% and scheduled cash earnings were 247,101 yen decreased by 0.2%.

Real wage index was decreased by 1.2%.

2 Hours Worked

Average monthly total hours worked per regular employee in January 2007 were 140.8 hours increased by 0.4%.

Non-scheduled hours worked in Manufacturing were 15.3 hours increased by 0.7% and its seasonally adjusted figure was decreased by 1.0% from the previous month.

3 Employment

Regular employees in January 2007 were increased by 1.6% compared with a year earlier, full-time employees were increased by 0.9%, part-time employees were increased by 3.3%.
