1 Cash Earnings

Average monthly total cash earnings per regular employee in December 2006 were 613,774 yen decreased by 0.1%.

Contractual cash earnings were 273,175 yen decreased by 0.5% and scheduled cash earnings were 252,314 yen decreased by 0.8%.

Real wage index was decreased by 0.9%.

2 Hours Worked

Average monthly total hours worked per regular employee in December 2006 were 152.2 hours increased by 0.3%.

Non-scheduled hours worked in Manufacturing were 17.3 hours increased by 3.0% and its seasonally adjusted figure was decreased by 0.6% from the previous month.

3 Employment

Regular employees in December 2006 were increased by 1.4% compared with a year earlier, full-time employees were increased by 0.9%, part-time employees were increased by 2.9%.
