1 Cash Earnings

Average monthly total cash earnings per regular employee in July 2006 were 397,853 yen increased by 0.4%.

Contractual cash earnings were 272,310 yen decreased by 0.1% and scheduled cash earnings were 252,763 yen decreased by 0.3%.

Real wage index was decreased by 0.6%.

2 Hours Worked

Average monthly total hours worked per regular employee in July 2006 were 152.9 hours increased by 0.1%.

Non-scheduled hours worked in Manufacturing were 16.6 hours increased by 5.0% and its seasonally adjusted figure was increased by 1.2% from the previous month.

3 Employment

Regular employees in July 2006 were increased by 1.2% compared with a year earlier, full-time employees were increased by 1.1%, part-time employees were increased by 1.6%.
