1 Cash Earnings

Average monthly total cash earnings per regular employee in April 2006 were 282,953 yen increased by 0.4%.

Contractual cash earnings were 276,152 yen increased by 0.1% and scheduled cash earnings were 255,755 yen same as the same month of the previous year.

Real wage index was same as the same month of the previous year.

2 Hours Worked

Average monthly total hours worked per regular employee in April 2006 were 155.4 hours decreased by 0.3%.

Non-scheduled hours worked in Manufacturing were 16.9 hours increased by 5.0% and its seasonally adjusted figure was increased by 0.9% from the previous month.

3 Employment

Regular employees in April 2006 were increased by 0.9% compared with a year earlier, full-time employees were increased by 0.5%, part-time employees were increased by 2.2%.
