1 Cash Earnings

Average monthly total cash earnings per regular employee in May 2005 were 276,908 yen increased by 0.6%.

Contractual cash earnings were 271,075 yen increased by 0.6% and scheduled cash earnings were 252,333 yen increased by 0.6%.

Real wage index was increased by 0.5%.

2 Hours Worked

Average monthly total hours worked per regular employee in May 2005 were 143.8 hours same as the same month of the previous year.

Non-scheduled hours worked in Manufacturing were 14.7 hours decreased by 3.3% and its seasonally adjusted figure decreased by 1.6% from the previous month.

3 Employment

Regular employees in May 2005 were increased by 0.5% compared with a year earlier, full-time employees were increased by 0.9%, part-time employees were increased by 0.1%.
