1 Cash Earnings

Average monthly total cash earnings per regular employee in September 2004 were 274,873 yen decreased by 0.5%.

Contractual cash earnings were 270,911 yen decreased by 0.7% and scheduled cash earnings were 252,585 yen decreased by 1.0%.

Real wage index was decreased by 0.6%.

2 Hours Worked

Average monthly total hours worked per regular employee in September 2004 were 151.2 hours decreased by 0.1% compared with a year earlier.

Non-scheduled hours worked in Manufacturing were 16.0 hours increased by 6.4% and its seasonally adjusted figure decreased by 0.9% from the previous month.

3 Employment

Regular employees in September 2004 were increased by 0.5% compared with a year earlier, full-time employees were decreased by 0.5%, part-time employees were increased by 4.3%.
