1 Cash Earnings

Average monthly total cash earnings per regular employee in June 2004 were 461,932 yen decreased by 2.2%.

Contractual cash earnings were 272,652 yen decreased by 0.4% and scheduled cash earnings were 254,258 yen decreased by 0.8%.

Real wage index was decreased by 2.2%.

2 Hours Worked

Average monthly total hours worked per regular employee in June 2004 were 156.5 hours same as the same month of the previous year.

Non-scheduled hours worked in Manufacturing were 15.8 hours increased by 11.0% and its seasonally adjusted figure increased by 0.9% from the previous month.

3 Employment

Regular employees in June 2004 were increased by 0.4% compared with a year earlier, full-time employees were decreased by 1.5%, part-time employees were increased by 7.3%.
