1 Cash Earnings

Average monthly total cash earnings per regular employee in November 2003 were 293,200 yen same as the same month of the pevious year.

Contractual cash earnings were 280,315 yen decreased by 0.3% and scheduled cash earnings were 260,645 yen decreased by 0.6%.

Real wage index was increased by 0.6%.

2 Hours Worked

Average monthly total hours worked per regular employee in November 2003 were 153.7 hours decreased by 2.3% compared with a year earlier.

Non-scheduled hours worked in Manufacturing were 16.1 hours increased by 8.1% and its seasonally adjusted figure increased by 0.9% from the previous month.

3 Employment

Regular employees in November 2003 were decreased by 0.3% compared with a year earlier, full-time employees were decreased by 1.1%, part-time employees were increased by 2.3%.
