1 Cash Earnings

Average monthly total cash earnings per regular employee in June 2002 were 470,269 yen decreased by 3.3%.

Contractual cash earnings were 278,795 yen decreased by 1.8% and scheduled cash earnings were 261,468 yen decreased by 1.7%.

Real wage index was decreased by 2.5%.

2 Hours Worked

Average monthly total hours worked per regular employee in June 2002 were 156.1 hours decreased by 2.3% compared with a year earlier.

Non-scheduled hours worked in Manufacturing were 13.2 hours increased by 3.5% and its seasonally adjusted figure was same as the same month of the previous month.

3 Employment

Regular employees in June 2002 were decreased by 0.6% compared with a year earlier, full-time employees were decreased by 2.0%, part-time employees were increased by 5.2%.
