1 Cash Earnings

Average monthly total cash earnings per regular employee in February 2002 were 280,942 yen decreased by 1.1%.

Contractual cash earnings were 278,490 yen decreased by 1.2% and scheduled cash earnings were 260,877 yen decreased by 0.8%.

Real wage index was increased by 0.7%.

2 Hours Worked

Average monthly total hours worked per regular employee in February 2002 were 151.1 hours decreased by 0.4% compared with a year earlier.

Non-scheduled hours worked in Manufacturing were 12.7 hours decreased by 11.5% and its seasonally adjusted figure was increased by 0.5% from the previous month.

3 Employment

Regular employees in February 2002 were decreased by 0.3% compared with a year earlier, full-time employees were decreased by 1.3%, part-time employees were increased by 3.9%.
