1 Cash Earnings

Average monthly total cash earnings per regular employee in April 2001 were 292,007 yen same as the same month of the privious year.

Contractual cash earnings were 285,148 yen decreased by 0.3% and scheduled cash earnings were 265,975 yen decreased by 0.2%.

Real wage index was increased by 0.6%.

2 Hours Worked

Average monthly total hours worked per regular employee in April 2001 were 158.0 hours decreased by 1.1% compared with a year earlier.

Non-scheduled hours worked in Manufacturing were 13.5 hours decreased by 3.5% and its seasonally adjusted figure was decreased by 1.5% from the previous month.

3 Employment

Regular employees in April 2001 were decreased by 0.2% compared with a year earlier, full-time employees were decreased by 1.2%, part-time employees were increased by 3.5%.
