Report of Vital Statistics in FY 2010: Occupational and Industrial Aspects
Digest of Summary Report
Birth
Working mothers accounted for 34.5% of all mothers who gave birth to their first child in FY 2010, which was a 9.3 points increase from 25.2% in FY 2005. (see page 4 of the Summary Report)
Death
Malignant neoplasm accounted for 33.8% and 24.9% of all causes of death for men and women respectively, and the proportions for those who had a job were 38.8% (male) and 37.9% (female). (see page 9, page 10 of the Summary Report)
Marriage
Couples who got married with both spouses having a job accounted for 67.9% of all couples who married in FY 2010, which was a 6.7 point increase from 61.2% in FY 2005.
Couples who got married with the groom having a job and the bride without a job accounted for 23.1% of all couples who married in FY 2010, which was a 6.2 point decrease from 29.3% in FY 2005.
Divorce
35.5% of all women who divorced in FY2010 did not have a job. Among them, those who had an unmarried children under the age of 20 was 56.1%, and those who exercises parental authority over her children was 48.7%. ( see page 23 of the Summary Report)
