 The aim of the survey is to study the characteristics of workers and conditions related to entering or leaving the labour force among workers in establishments in principal industries, in order to obtain infomation on entering and leaving the labour force and on mobility of the labour force.

 The aim of the survey is to study comprehensively managemant conditions relating to recruitment , employment, rotation, treatment,education and training,and retirement of employees in principal industries in order to clarify employment managemant conditions in Japan.The survey has been carried out over items related to employment managemant, manegemant after employment, retirement management, every threeyears since 1969.

 The aim of the survey is to investigate the managerial problems to cope with the change of the industrial structure and the structure of employment status, and also to clarify the effect on labour and measures for labour.The theme of this survey is changed annually.

 The aim of the survey is to study the influence on employment, working hours and wages in enterprises,caused by business trends and changes in labour supply and demand, enterprises' prospect and countermeasures, in order to show the tendency of changes in labour economics and problems at the moment.

 The aim of the survey is to collect monthly data on employment,wages and working hours , on both a nationwide and a prefectural basis.

 The aim of the survey is to obtain information on the wage structure for regular employees in major industries, in terms of industry, region, size of enterprises, sex, type of worker, educational level, occupational category, type of occupation,type of work, age, length of service,and experience.

 The aim of the survey is to obtain a clear picture of the wage of employees by occupation in Construction and Port Transport related service by occupation.

 The aim of the survey is to collect information on wages of forestry workers, by occupation and type of wage payment.

 The aim of the survey is to clarify the structure of wage increase, in private enterprises(including enterprises without labour union)including the method of wage increase, the amount of wage increase, and differences in terms of enterprise size, and to identify the effects of wage increase on the management of enterprises.

 The aim of the survey is to study general basic items relating to enterprises wage and working hour systems, labour costs, welfare facility systems, retirement allowance systems and payment conditions for retirement allowances in principal industries and to obtain basic data on labour conditions in Japan.

5.Industrial Accidents and Occupational Health

 The aim of the survey is to determine trends in the occurence of industrial accidents semi-annually and annually in the principal industries,and to show final yearly figures by size of establishment and degree of injury.

 The aim of the present survey(1996) is to investigate the labour environment of ever changing labour conditions under the introduction of new technologies, the expansion of dangerous and harmful business affairs and so forth, and their influence upon labourers, and thereby to prepare fundamental data for the promotion of future labour policies.

6.Labour Relations

-Basic Survey on Labour Unions
 The aim of the survey is to obtain basic infomation on labour unions by industry and by prefecture.

-Survey on Collective Agreement
 The aim of the present survey(1996) is to clarify the actual situations of labour agreement concluded by and between labour unions and employers(or employer groups)under the changes of labour environments.

 The aim of the survey is to study Labour disputes in order to gather basic infomation for administration purposes.
