１．	国際的に認知された基準を用いた特定危険部位（SRM)の除去及び生産記録による月齢の証明システム（米国側が、実務担当者による現地調査（１１月２８日〜１２月５日）のフォローアップとして提供）。
２．	米国農務省が実施中の牛枝肉の生理学的成熟度（マチュリティ）に関する特別研究 （会合の中で米国側は、特別研究の最終報告書（案）を日本側に提示し、両者は同報告書（案）について意見交換を行った。最終報告書は可能な限り早期に提出される見込みである。）

　両者は、双方向の牛肉貿易の再開に向けての条件と枠組みの詳細についての検討作業が進展していると認識した。これに従い、両者は上記の点に関する検討と研究を続けることを決定し、共通の理解を得るために可能な限り早期に次回の意見交換を行うこととした。

On December 16 and 17, the Government of Japan and the Government of the United States held a working-level consultation with experts from both sides in Tokyo on the resumption of two-way beef trade.  Both sides discussed the following issues in an active and constructive manner:

1. A certification system to verify the removal of specified risk materials (SRMs) and age production records using internationally accepted standards, which the U.S. side presented as a follow-up of the field survey by working-level officials from November 28 to December 5.

2. The special study on physiological maturity of carcasses conducted by U.S. Department of Agriculture.  During the consultation, the U.S. side provided the Japanese side with an interim final report on the special study, on which both side exchanged their views.  The final report is expected to be presented as soon as possible.

Both sides recognized the progress in working out details of some of the conditions and modalities for the resumption of the two-way trade.  Therefore, both sides decided to continue to work on and study these issues and will have next round of consultation, as soon as practically possible to reach a common understanding on these issues.
